About the Journal
The Universidad de San Andrés Law Review is a student-run organization whose main objective is the periodic publication of academic content related to different fields of law. The editorial and administrative decisions are made by the editorial team, with the assistance of an academic coordinator and an Academic Council, integrated by jurists.
The Review was created in 2011, within the framework of the Law Department the University. Its main purpose is to contribute to the open debate of judicial ideas and enrich the practice of law in Argentina. To achieve this, the editorial team has two fundamental goals. Firstly, to consolidate the Review as a source of high quality academic material, can be of use for both lawyers who practice law and for students. Secondly, to foster the interest of young professionals in judicial research, while promoting adequate publication practices.
The Review is published on-line on a quarterly basis, reaching a total of two volumes per year. The fascicles are published in July and December, covering the periods of March-July and August-December respectively.
Each edition contains a series of writings presented by professors, judges and several legal professionals. In these articles, essays and commentaries of bibliography or jurisprudence, the authors expose different theoretical developments, describe and analyze a given legal issue, and propose new approaches to the subject. Furthermore, in recent years, a section has been incorporated which contains student-written pieces. These students are given the opportunity to share their ideas and introduce themselves into the academic field.
In order to guarantee the quality of the publications, all the writings that are submitted to the Editorial Team are subjected to a rigorous peer review process, carried out by experts in the respective field. At the end of said process, the referees determine whether or not the article will be published. This method not only guarantees the quality of the published content, but also perfects it before it’s publication (See Publication Guidelines).
The sending of original writings does not require the type of payment, nor will any patrimonial compensation be given to the author, either before or after the publication of the writing.
Digital Preservation Policy
The Review adopts different measures in order to guarantee the digital preservation of its contents.
The Review is part of the Public Knowledge Project's Private LOCKSS Network (PKP-PLN), which generates a decentralized file system, distributed among collaborating libraries, in order to create permanent archives of the Review intended for the conservation of original content and, if necessary, its restoration.
Additionally, published files are available in easily reproducible formats, facilitating their reproduction in libraries and repositories.
Finally, through internal mechanisms, the Review generates periodic backup copies of all its contents.
