Child sexual exploitation through information and communication technologies (ICT). Current approach in Argentine case law

Child sexual exploitation committed through ICTs is a phenomenon that ha grown with the advance of new technologies and the lowered age of access to them. In Argentine criminal law, the issue of sexual exploitation of children and adolescents is primarily addressed through two provisions: art. 128 of the Criminal Code (the production and distribution of material for sexual exploitation of children and adolescents) and art. 131 of the Criminal Code (grooming). This paper analyzes the aforementioned offenses in detail, and identifies and outlines the problems generated by the interpretation of these criminal offenses in Argentine courts.
